Where HDBaseT fits
A long cable route between a source rack and a display may be better served by a suitable extender than by an unsupported HDMI cable length. Product families vary in supported resolution, power, IR, Ethernet and USB features.
AV Installation · Edinburgh & Scotland
HDBaseT is used to extend compatible video, audio and control signals between equipment and displays over structured cabling. We survey the route, confirm video format and choose transmitter and receiver hardware to suit the distance and required features.

Cable category, terminations, patching, proximity to electrical interference and cable length can all affect performance. We test link stability at the specified signal format.
Blustream lists HDBaseT extender categories for 70 m, 100 m and 150 m applications. Distance claims apply only to the relevant product and stated conditions, so model documentation governs each design.
We establish the intended use, inspect the site, confirm compatible equipment and infrastructure, then install, configure, test and explain the finished system. Product choices depend on the building, budget and agreed scope.
From our Edinburgh base we support commercial projects across Scotland. Contact us with your requirements for a project-specific specification.

Technical guidance
Do not assume every Cat cable run or intermediate network switch can carry a given HDBaseT link; verify the manufacturer’s cabling and point-to-point requirements.
