Cloud control · FBT loudspeakers

Sound that works across your space.

Commercial sound system installation with Cloud zone control and FBT installed loudspeakers, for businesses and venues across Edinburgh and Scotland.

The mixer is part of the system.

We agree the zones and user controls first, then specify compatible equipment. Where bass reinforcement or speech is required, that becomes part of the system design rather than an afterthought.

Cloud Electronics · Zoning & control

Different rooms. The right control.

A zone mixer decides which source is heard in each area and how staff control it. These Cloud options cover different approaches to source selection, paging and local operation.

Cloud DCM1e zone mixer front panel

Network-controlled zoning

Cloud DCM1e

Eight stereo line inputs; eight balanced zone outputs, arranged as two stereo and six mono zones. Its onboard web server enables control from devices on the same network, with installer-defined access.

  • Eight-zone digital mixer
  • Ethernet web control
  • Paging and optional wall controls
Cloud Z8MK4 zone mixer front panel

Control across eight zones

Cloud Z8MK4

An analogue venue mixer with eight mono zones, six music source inputs and two microphone inputs. Optional wall controls let staff adjust source and level locally; paging and priority settings support daily operation.

  • Eight mono output zones
  • Six music inputs · two mic inputs
  • Optional local source and level control
Cloud CX163 zone mixer front panel

A simpler, smaller-zone system

Cloud CX163

Two stereo zones plus a mono utility output, with six stereo line inputs and one microphone input. A compact 1U mixer for smaller venues; optional RL-1 controls provide remote music level adjustment.

  • Two stereo zones + mono utility
  • Six stereo music inputs
  • Optional RL-1 remote level control

These are line-level zone mixers, not speaker power amplifiers. Amplification, loudspeaker circuits, wall controls and paging accessories are specified separately.

FBT Audio · Installed loudspeakers

Choose coverage as carefully as the sound.

Loudspeaker style, placement and output should fit the architecture and listening areas. LIBRA and ARCHON offer different starting points for a commercial installation.

FBT LIBRA Install (LIBRA 5CT shown)

Pendant loudspeakers for designed spaces

FBT LIBRA Install

A suspended speaker format to consider for open ceilings and interiors where conventional wall positions do not suit the layout. We plan the drop height, spacing and suspension around the room.

  • LIBRA 5CT: 5″ woofer + 1″ tweeter
  • 70/100 V taps or 16-ohm operation
  • Black and white options
  • LIBRA 8S pendant subwoofer in the range
FBT ARCHON (ARCHON 105 shown)

Cabinet speakers for installed sound

FBT ARCHON

A range of passive installation speakers and subwoofers for projects needing focused coverage and a choice of cabinet sizes. The room, listening level and mounting positions guide the model selection.

  • Compact models through larger cabinets
  • ARCHON 105: 5″ woofer + 1″ tweeter
  • ARCHON 208S / 215S subwoofer options
  • Amplifier and mounting hardware specified to suit

Range imagery shows LIBRA 5CT and ARCHON 105 examples, not every model. Passive speakers need suitable amplification. Transformer options, impedance, mounting and environmental suitability are checked for the exact model.

Plan around the venue

How a zoned system can work.

Illustrative layouts to discuss at survey. The final mixer, speaker count and amplifier channels depend on the actual building.

Bar & restaurant

One venue, different atmospheres.

Separate the bar, dining area and private room so their sound levels can differ. Decide whether private dining needs a local source or microphone and whether announcements should reach selected areas.

Hospitality AV ›

Hotel & multi-room venue

Control where it is needed.

Define reception, lounge, restaurant and meeting-room zones. Establish which staff need local controls, which sources they may select and where central control remains with management.

Hotel AV ›

Retail & commercial spaces

Consistent coverage, practical paging.

Plan music coverage across customer areas while keeping staff spaces independent where needed. Agree paging priorities and check the sound at normal working levels.

Installation & commissioning

Designed for the working day.

01 / Survey

Understand the rooms

Listen to the space, identify noise and reflective surfaces, and agree music, speech and operating priorities.

02 / Design

Match the components

Plan zone circuits, speaker loading, amplifier capacity, controls and cable routes.

03 / Install

Fit and configure

Coordinate mounting, cabling and equipment locations, then set routing, levels and any agreed priorities.

04 / Handover

Test real scenarios

Walk the listening areas, check zone controls and demonstrate everyday operation to staff.

Common questions

Before choosing equipment.

Does a zone mixer power the speakers?

No. These Cloud mixers provide line-level outputs. Suitable power amplifiers are needed between the mixer and passive loudspeakers.

Can each room have a different source and volume?

Depending on the chosen system and configuration, yes. We define which zones need independent source selection, local volume controls and microphone access before specifying the mixer.

Can we combine pendant and cabinet speakers?

Yes, where the design calls for it. Different areas can use different loudspeaker types, with appropriate amplifier circuits and settings for each.

Is 100 V or low-impedance wiring better?

It depends on the speaker models, cable distances, number of speakers and required output. We check transformer taps or impedance loading and amplifier capacity for each circuit.

Does paging or a music-mute input make this a voice-alarm system?

No. A background music or paging installation is not automatically a certified voice-alarm system. Any life-safety requirement needs its own compliant design and coordination with the relevant specialists.

Can these speakers be installed outside?

Environmental suitability is model-specific. We confirm the exact product, weather protection, mounting and cable arrangements before specifying an outdoor installation.
